ABRASIVE WHEELS TRAINING
Mechanical Skills Course
Develop the Knowledge and Practical Skills to Use Abrasive Wheels Safely
Abrasive wheels are widely used across engineering and industrial environments, but selecting, mounting and using them correctly requires appropriate knowledge and practical competence.
MCP's Abrasive Wheels Training Course is designed for technicians and engineers who select, mount, specify or use abrasive wheels, including off-hand grinders and disc cutters.
The course provides delegates with an awareness of the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) as they apply to abrasive wheels, alongside practical training in selecting, mounting and dressing wheels safely.
On successful completion of the training, delegates receive an MCP Technical Training Certificate.
WHY DEVELOP
Abrasive Wheels Capability
Abrasive wheels need to be selected, handled, mounted and used correctly to help protect the people working with them.
Employees involved in the use of abrasive wheels need appropriate information, instruction and training for the work they undertake.
This course helps delegates develop an understanding of the safety requirements associated with abrasive wheels and the practical skills needed to select, mount and dress them correctly.
Training covers both off-hand grinders and disc cutters, with consideration given to wheel and disc selection, handling, fitting, guards, work rests, dressing and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
IS THIS COURSE
Right for You?
The Abrasive Wheels Training Course is designed for technicians and engineers involved in the selection, mounting, specification or use of abrasive wheels as defined under PUWER.
It is particularly relevant to people who work with:
» Abrasive wheels
» Off-hand grinders
» Disc cutters
» Grinding equipment
The course can be delivered on site to meet the specific requirements of your organisation.
ASSESSMENT &
Certification
Delegates are required to demonstrate competence in the practical skills associated with mounting and dressing abrasive wheels.
On successful completion of the course, delegates receive an MCP Technical Training Certificate.
The course can therefore support organisations in providing appropriate abrasive wheels training for employees whose work involves selecting, mounting, specifying or using this equipment.
