Bob has a lifelong love of science, engineering and technology, and enjoys hands-on work with vehicles and home improvement. He is a qualified diver with instructor experience and also enjoys walking, cycling and exploring the natural world.
About Bob
Bob is a highly accomplished and versatile Technical Trainer, bringing over four decades of experience in engineering, control systems, and instrumentation. With a career spanning power generation, industrial automation, food manufacturing, and education, Bob offers an exceptional depth of knowledge across mechanical, electrical and control disciplines.
His early career began in turbine engineering with GEC, followed by senior technical and project management roles across the UK and USA. Bob has worked extensively with PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS platforms and variable speed drives, alongside hands-on commissioning and fault-finding on complex industrial systems. His portfolio includes work for clients ranging from Unilever and Rolls Royce to large-scale biomass conversions and advanced manufacturing environments.
Bob is a qualified instructor and assessor, with years of experience training apprentices and technicians in both classroom and on-site settings. He is known for his calm, logical approach and a passion for helping others apply technical concepts practically and safely.
