Behind the Scenes

20 Steps to Building World-Class Training

When you book a training course, you see a date, a venue, a title and maybe some bullet points about what’s covered. But what you don’t see is the extraordinary amount of thought, planning and care that goes into creating a course that’s genuinely effective.

At MCP Technical Training, every course we run is the result of weeks, sometimes months, of collaboration, development and refinement. Here’s a closer look at the 20-step journey each course goes through before a single delegate walks through our doors.

The Hidden Craft Behind Great Training

The Hidden Craft Behind Great Training

1–2. Identifying the Skills Gaps and Planning the Course

We begin with a National Gap Analysis to understand the real-world challenges employers are facing. Our directors and trainers use this insight to design relevant, impactful content that reflects current industry needs.

3–4. Writing and Testing the Course

Our courses are created in-house by experienced trainers, not just compiled from manuals. Every element is tested and reviewed to ensure it meets both technical accuracy and real-world application.

5–7. Designing, Building and Testing the Rigs

Training at MCP is hands-on for a reason. We design and construct our own training rigs, sourcing tools and components that mirror industry setups, while ensuring safety, low maintenance and learner-friendly layouts. These rigs are then tested rigorously before use.

8–9. Advertising and Booking

With help from our marketing team and training advisors, each course is promoted through our website, email campaigns and direct client engagement to ensure it reaches the right audience.

10–14. Preparing the Delegate Experience

Everything from parking and catering to delegate notes and classroom layout is carefully planned and prepared by our admin team. It's about more than convenience, it's about creating a smooth, stress-free learning experience which includes:

  • Venue planning

  • Delegate communication

  • Course packs and printed materials

  • Lunch and refreshments

  • Tools, pens and practical kit

15–17. Scheduling and Delivery

Once the logistics are in place, we match each course with the right trainer, based on expertise and availability. Then comes delivery day, where we run the course with a mix of theory, demonstration, hands-on tasks and delegate assessments.

18–20. Feedback, Certification and Continuous Improvement

After the course ends, we gather feedback, issue certificates and hold internal reviews to keep improving the course for future sessions.

Why We Go to These Lengths

Because when we do things right, you leave with more than a certificate - you leave with capability, confidence and practical skill. That’s the difference MCP has made for over 35 years, across industries ranging from manufacturing and FM to energy and pharmaceuticals.
