In our most recent blog, read about why Training Director, John Saysell, is leading a fundraising challenge for the Social Enterprise, Spectrum of Misconception.

About the Spectrum of Misconception

The enterprise was set up by John’s wife Emma and Cormac Duffy to give their son, Zach who has autism, is non-verbal and has complex behaviour needs, the experience of work. Without the enterprise, Zach would not have had the opportunity.

Since the launch in the summer of 2018, the enterprise has grown, and now have a team of young people who have similar needs to Zach working. We want to be able to continue to grow, giving more people this great and vital opportunity

One of the positive statement t-shirts Spectrum sells. The team pack up and post or deliver the products, this may not sound like a great deal but it is a massive achievement for them to pack so the products look their best and go to the Post Office or deliver.

Why does Spectrum need your money?

Running on a tight budget and with narrow profit margins, the team needs to expand to give other young people the chance to be involved, to do this they heavily rely on charity and fundraising events.

About John

John will be riding his bike 100km around Hertfordshire and Essex, a few of John’s clubmates have agreed to join him on Sunday 26th September as part of the North Road Club run. They will make sure they factor in plenty of coffee and cake café stops, a Strava route will be downloaded onto Garmin (or other GPS).

If you are not a member of the North Road Cycling Club and would like to join them, you will be very welcome. The ride will be shared on Strava so you will know John and co will be working hard for your money.
